VITAL Health Foods, a prominent South African health and wellness brand appointed Pure Creative Global Agency to develop a custom publication for the brand entitled VITALISE. VITALISE magazine was designed to engage it with its customer audience through valuable insights on nutrition, lifestyle and health, showcasing VITAL products in an informative and educational manner.

PURE Creative maintained a consistent brand identity across issues, incorporating Vital’s brand colours and fonts. Each issue opens with an editorial letter, followed by organised sections such as health tips, recipes, product highlights, and inspirational stories, providing readers with a structured yet familiar experience.

Titles and subheadings stand out from body copy through the use of larger font sizes and colour. Strict grids and templates were developed to allow for a flexible design system, that still had structure but retained a looser aesthetic.  Each layout was custom designed to carry specific VITAL health products and information within the editorial context. Advertising products using this “soft-sell” approach, educating their customers on the value of VITAL products, proved highly effective and increased sales monthly. Designer infographics also played a key role in collating complex information into easy-to-understand illustrations and infographics.

Interactive and Informative Elements

For an engaging experience, PURE Creative included interactive elements, such as QR codes for online shopping, discount codes, and quick links to Vital’s website. They also integrated recipes and health-related snippets using the VITAL products, which encouraged a healthier nutrition and lifestyle.

Custom magazines provide a unique touch point of communication with customers. In this way the custom magazine leverages other marketing efforts, directing customers to the web, to call in, visit a store or otherwise act as directed and encouraged by the magazine.

Highlighting Community Initiatives

Sections like “The Vital Foundation” celebrate Vital’s social responsibility initiatives, showcasing their involvement in events like the Cape Town Marathon. This storytelling approach reinforces the brand’s dedication to community wellness, inviting readers to connect with and support the cause.
