Foodie Friday: Cabron Taco Bar

It seems a Mexican restaurant is a quintessential part of any hip street these days, so it was only a matter of time before Bree Street got its own taco bar. Cabron Taco Bar is a cute and cheerful little place, awash in yellow and decorated with Mexican Day of the Dead paraphernalia.

Their ingredients are authentic, mostly, and fresh. The tacos have proper corn torillas and the meat is savoury. But the portion and price falls prey to the usual Bree Street markup, in particular their nachos, which is basically a handful of tortilla chips with some cheese sauce and guacamole – rather uninspiring. But if you’re just going for drink and want something to nibble, it’s a great option. Just don’t expect to have a full meal, but you can expect a good vibe.
