Content Marketing Vs Inbound Marketing

Unsure of what content or inbound marketing is, or how they differ? Are they necessary for your business, or can you use just one? Read on to learn about both methods and why they are important and beneficial to your business.

Content marketing is a strategic marketing tool that involves the creation, publishing and sharing of online material such as videos, blogs and social media posts. The content does not explicitly promote a brand, but is intended to stimulate interest in its products or services. Content is created with the aim of building engaged content communities and converting those communities into business-drivers. Consumers tend to ignore invasive marketing methods. Content marketing is therefore welcomed, as it is a way to slowly build relationships with potential consumers.

Inbound marketing is another strategic marketing tool that attracts customers by creating valuable content and experiences that are tailored to them. They provide the right content to the right customer at the right time. Inbound marketing aims to form the connections customers are looking for as well as solve problems they are facing. Customers don’t want to be disturbed with marketing they don’t want. If they seek out a company themselves, they are more likely to accept a targeted offer or respond to a call to action.

So how are content and inbound marketing different?
Content and inbound marketing have a lot in common, but are also very different. Content marketing focuses on creating and distributing content across various channels, while inbound marketing focuses on making a website and its content attractive enough for consumers to take action.

Content marketing looks to build relationships through content, while inbound marketing uses various actions and methods to eventually inspire a customer to take action. Content marketing mainly focuses on creating content and blogging, while inbound marketing incorporates a variety of methods from social media, to blogs, to videos.

Inbound marketing aims to convert visitors into customers once they have landed on a website. Content marketing is just a section of that. It focuses on specific methods of content creation and distribution.

Neither inbound nor content marketing is better than the other. Both should be included in your marketing strategy, and if used together could produce excellent results.

Both are important, each in their own way. Inbound marketing is used to make your website great. The methods used and the content available is used to compel visitors to take action and convert them into customers. Content marketing is used to make the website more attractive. It provides helpful material to convince them that your business is the right choice. Content marketing also contributes to increasing your search rankings.

Together, both marketing strategies can produce great results. Your presence will grow, more leads will be generated, relationships created with customers and content shared multiple times. By utilizing both methods, your brand is sure to be successful.
